Collection 01: Possibilities

Fall 2022 Ready-to-Wear

Getting dressed is meaningful to me because it is a human act that we collectively experience that greatly influences individuals and communities across the globe. How we carry ourselves and interact with others is greatly determined by how confident we feel in ourselves and how comfortable we are in our surroundings. The garments that we wear in our everyday lives play a vital role in these feelings, both physically and emotionally. Clothing has the power to lift one’s mood and spirit and allows us to express our personality with visuals. This to me is the most important aspect of clothing. My goal as a fashion designer is to create clothing that brings out the best in the wearer on the inside and outside. My Fall 2022 Ready-to-Wear collection is called “Possibilities.” I selected thirteen pairs of pants from East Village’s L Train Vintage, a second-hand clothing store, and transformed them into nineteen new pieces. My goal with this collection was to create new possibilities for these pants by deconstructing them and piecing them together like a puzzle to form skirts, shirts, bags, shorts, dresses, and pants. I ensured that each piece was durable, comfortable, adjustable, diverse, and assembled with high-quality stitching. The peacefulness and pure beauty of the natural world has a very special place in my heart therefore as a designer I aim to practice sustainability as much as possible. One hundred percent of the materials in this collection are recycled down to every last zipper and button so this collection is just as much dedicated to the world as the people in it. To me, waking up in the morning and putting together a look makes me feel ready to face the day with confidence, a positive attitude, and an open mind. My greatest wish is that I can create clothing that does the same for you. I hope you enjoy “Possibilities.”

With Utmost Love,

Hannah Estrada
